National Motoring Heritage Day

National Motoring Heritage Day is an initiative of the Australian Historic Motoring Federation. National Heritage Day is an annual even held the 3rd Sunday in May that is supported by heritage and historic clubs throughout Australia. Thousands of vehicles from the oldest veterans to the youngest collectible (30 years old) cars, trucks, buses, motorbikes, ex-military vehicles and tractors get out and about promoting Australia’s motoring heritage to the wider community, and showing business and government the strength of the Australian heritage and historic motoring movement. The Australian Motorlife Museum is an ideal destination for all car clubs or individuals out for a drive on the day. Just come along whether in a group or on your own, you never know what else you might see in the ample parking around the museum and there are plenty of shaded areas suitable for picnics, There will be a sausage sizzle BBQ as well as hot and cold drinks from the museum’s café to cater for hungry travelers but of course the best reason to come is the museum itself, one of the best in the country. There is a special discounted admission of $12 on the day (kids $6). There will also be free rides around the local lanes in vintage cars for visitors to the museum.
